Uno de los personajes que más han influido en mi vida musical, en mi filosofía de vida y en mi manera de ver las cosas.
Cuando John escribía lo hacía de modo inteligente, transmitía un mensaje, era un verdadero compositor. La manera cómo combinaba y lograba que la melodía fuese ideal para lo que escribía, era mágico.
Personalmente siento mucha afinidad con Lennon. Dicen por ahí que uno tiene diferentes soulmates, John es uno de mis soulmates musicales.
En esta oportunidad les traigo este tema. Es rudo, es una crítica, que se hace a él mismo. En sus tiempos de "locura" cuando se fue a Los Ángeles. Dejaré que él mismo les cuente de qué fue:

Entro y hay una luz tenue, como tres personas y unos chamos probando sonido, no los reconozco, pero me senté en el sofá y me acomodé para escucharlos, eran DMT, con un sonido bien progresivo y electrónico. Pasa el tiempo, proyectan Taxi Driver, finaliza y llega la gente, veo a un chico, de cabello largo, que sí reconozco, y es Jorge de De Reyes.
Más tarde y después de el ambiente musicalizado por Dj Stereorist (genial por cierto, con una mezcla de Teenage crime, daft punk y Miami horror más ese clásico de los noventa lara rí lari rá) que estaba haciéndonos mover, tocan los esperados De Reyes. Que puedo decir, me encantó, el sonido estuvo excelente, Jorge, el baterista, rockea esas baquetas de una manera increíble, y Javier, guitarrista/bajista con los acordes, sincronizado con el otro hermano Bolívar, Lisandro, bajista/guitarrista. Todos vocalizando de vez en vez.
Percibí una influencia muy latente de Bloc party, pero no sé si esten influenciados por ellos. Cantaron como cinco canciones, me emocioné porque cantaron unas nuevas que no había escuchado. Y todo bailable, tienen una onda indie muy marcada, mucha energía y rock también. La presentación fue tan buena que se hizo corta. Me sentí en ambiente. Música magnetica, easygoing y energética.

Aún no tienen material listo para vender, pero en meses venideros estará listo. Por mi parte compraré el cd cuando lo saquen.
La verdad que ahorita en la escena musical venezolana no hay nadie como ellos que estén tocando y cantando un buen indie pop.

The Old Grey Whistle Test estuvo al aire desde el año 1971 al 1987, más de una década. Creado por Rowan Ayers y presentado principalmente por Bob Harris (hasta el 1978). Funcionaba como la contraparte del show Top of the Pops, en el cual sólo se presentaba los líderes de las carteleras musicales.
TOGWT was on air since 1971 till 1986, more than a decade. It was created by Rowan Ayers and hosted mainly by Bob Harris (up to 1978). Its was, in some ways, the couterpart of The Top of the Pop Show.

Dan Auerbach is from Ohio, born in 1979, guitarrist and vocalist of The Black Keys, released his solo album called "Keep it Hid" in 2009. I love the whole album, its relaxing, toughtful, sweet, with lots of blues, grate lyrics and an AMAZING voice of course.
Dan Auerbach, originario de Ohio (EE.UU) y nacido en 1979, es el guitarrista y vocalista de la banda "The Black keys". En el 2009 lanzó su album como solista llamado "Keep it Hid. Ya lo he escuchado y me encanta, es relajante, dulce, con bastante blues y una líricas bien pensadas, y obviamente una voz grandiosa, digna de formar parte de los clásicos.

Es una de mis canciones favoritas. Habla de cómo a veces las palabras no tiene sentido, no son necesarias, y de la existencia del individuo, como una introspección y la confianza y seguridad que existe en dado momento en las creencias y en lo que se siente. La letra es simple y por eso hermosa. El video lo dice todo, es muy conceptual. Fue dirigido por Anton Corbijn. En él, Gahan (vocalista de la banda) está disfrazado de rey, recorre los altiplanos escoceses, la costa de Portugal y contempla los Alpes Suizos. Soy amante de la fotografía y me encantan los paisajes y la naturaleza, por ello y por el concepto del video, está en mi lista de favoritos.
