No me van a creer esto, pero los descubrí gracias al soundtrack de una de las películas Twilight, :/. Pero quienes se hayan atrevido a escuchar los soundtracks saben que a diferencia de las películas, los recopilados están muy buenos, incluyendo bandas como Death cab for cutie, The black ghosts, Muse y hasta Tom Yorke.
Esta canción también cuenta con la participación en el área vocal de Michale Mc Donald, miembro de los Doobie Brothers.

Alanis, en el MTV Unppluged de 1999 (uno de los mejores conciertos acústicos de el canal), versionó la canción en acústico, produciendo como resultado uno de los temas más agradables bonitos, con el toque propio de Morissette. Si se animan, los invito a que también escuchen la canción original.

Hace mucho tiempo escuché (descrubrí) esta canción en la radio. Me gustó mucho, sobre todo por el coro. Tiene algo de melancolía y profundidad, pero con la tonada de aquellos tiempos alegres como eran los ochenta, por lo menos en cuanto a música se refiere. Yo admiro a Elton John, este tema tal vez no sea uno de los más populares de su repertorio como Sacrtifice, Candle in the Wind y 50 primeros lugares más, pero la estética y dinámica del video son geniales.
"I'm still standing" del álbum Too low for zero, es como un himno de superpoder, que te da energía y fuerza. Tal vez es una reafirmación del propio Elton.

Aquí la camaradería no queda desapercibida entre estos muchachos. Contagian felicidad y diversión. Ringo en bicicleta estática y con su característica sonrisa. Tal vez tenga que ver la letra de la canción "i feel fine" con el hecho de que pedalear genera buena energía y se siente bien
"Nightcall" es uno de los temas del soundtrack de la película "Drive" protagonizada por Ryan Gosling.
Este tema fue lanzado en el 2010 junto con "Pacific Coast Highway" y otros dos remixes de estas canciones, como un promo álbum del artista electro-house Kavinsky,
La canción fue producido por Guy-Man [Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo de Daft Punk] y en ella colabora Lovefoxx, cantante del grupo brazilero CCS [Cansei de ser sexy]
Me parece muy interesante tanto el background de la canción como la misma. Es oscura y tiene un combinado que la hace atrayente.
Hoy no se trata del video sino de la canción como pudieron haberse percatado.
Una canción que aunque no tiene letras, tiene la capacidad de hacernos quedar perplejos [a quien le guste claro]
Tiene ese melancolía de los grandes de la salsa como Héctor o Willie, pero con un twist de rock psicodélico. Se trata del maravilloso Omar Rodriguez-López, horiundo de Puerto Rico y tal vez mejor conocido por el mainstream como el guitarrista, productor y director de Mars Volta. Private fortunes es un tema del álbum Old Money [2008]. El álbum habla sobre las industrias explotadoras y el dinero. Omar, productor y compositor del álbum, también es multiinstrumentalista. Es un artista completo que ha trabajado junto con John Frusciante [ex - Red Hot Chili Peppers] y Ximena Sariñana, además de estar involucrado en otros proyectos artísticos.
Cosmic Girl es un sencillo del álbum con el mismo nombre, lanzado en 1996. Jamiroquai es una banda inglesa de electro pop-acid jazz y disco-funk. Desde 1992 ha creado su propio estilo, haciendo su lugar único en la década de los 90 y el presente. Liderada por Jay Kay, de movimientos ligeros, contagiantes y de los sombreros extravagantes, y antiguamente conformada también por Toby Smith (teclados), Stuart Zender (bajo) y Nick Van Gelder (batería).
El video de esta canción fue grabado en Cabo de Gata, España. Muy buena elección d elocación para un tema que se presta a dar buen humor y a disfrutar la vida

Culture Club es una banda británica conformada en 1981 por Boy George (vocals), Roy Hay (guitarra), Mike Craig (bajo) and Jon Moss batería.
Esta banda, emblemática de los ochenta, se manejaban en géneros como el new wave - reggae. Pioneros del New romantic, Culture club destacaba también por su vocalista, diferente y único, camaléonico.
Por mi parte, desde la 1era vez que vi el video, solo bailo como Boy George, no puedo evitarlo.
"Do you really want to hurt me" es un sencillo promocional del álbum debut Kissing to be clever (1982). La historia cuenta que fue escrita por Boy y dedicada a Jon Moss el baterista. Ellos ya mantenían una relación larga para aquel entonces. La disquera decidió ocultar el amor de George y Moss para evitar "polémicas". Este hecho afectó la relación, y de los sentimientos que de ahí derivan se creó el tema.
Fleetwood Mac es una de mis bandas favoritas de ese tal llamado classic rock, pero ellos no solamente se manejaban en ese género, sino también en el country - blues - ballad.
Originaria de Londres y conformada por Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Lindsey Buckingham y mi querida Stevie Nicks, entre otros.
"Dreams", del album "Rumours", fue grabada en 1976 y lanzada junto con el álbum en 1977.
La canción, fue escrita por Stevie Nicks y según su relato, en solo 10 minutos. En ese momento los otros tres miembros de la banda estaban pasando por experiencias emocionales de separación. De ahí puede que sea el origen de la magia al grabarla.
The Corrs hizo una versión muy popular en 1988.

Un día estaba navegando por las cuentas de twitter que promueven el uso de la bicicleta en la ciudad (Caracas), y vi un tuit de una gente que promovía su música para escucharla mientras se maneja bicicleta. ¡Y qué buena recomendación! Fui a la página, le di click al botón naranja y voilá, música ultra enérgica salía de las cornetas de mi computadora. Letras que se quedan pegadas y que aunque no tengas bien claro que es lo que dicen la primera vez que las escuchas (como todas las canciones en otro idioma que no es el nativo) igual uno tararea con la tonada. Paseé por emociones tales como melancolía pensativa, rabia y descarga y por supuesto energía y más nada. ¿Qué más se necesita?

-Nuestras bandas influyentes se remontan a las

- Imaginen una escena para ser
musicalizada con algunos de sus temas y descríbanla
-Año 1920,11:34 p.m. Una noche común en la
mesa del rincón de un bar antiguo en el corazón de Nueva York, la
mafía italo-neoyorkina se reune a media luz. Seguido entra un
extraño, de traje, sobretodo y sombrero negro, se sienta en una de las sillas
rojas de la barra acabadas por el uso, pide un un vaso de whisky doble al
cantinero. El ambiente se torna tenso, todos los mafiosos de la mesa del fondo
enfocan sus miradas en el extraño; él bebe un sorbo de su whisky, luego baja y
coloca fuertemente el vaso en la barra, fijando su mirada en la barra se queda
pensando unos segundos para levantarse y darse vuelta sacando del sobretodo una
metralleta (machinegun de la época) disparando al rincón hiriendo al jefe de la
mafia y a algunos cuantos. Ellos responden con otra rafaga, obligándolo a huir.
Se detiene abruptamente un carro negro frente a la entrada del bar a
escuchándose el chillido de las llantas contra el asfalto. El extraño sube al
auto y empieza una persecución por las calles de la gran Nueva York. Entre disparos
que van y vienen por parte de los dos bandos a velocidad máxima, el conductor
del auto de adelante recibe un disparo fatal ocasionando un accidente y
volcándose tres veces para caer de costado y explotar al mejor estilo

Andrés (guitarrista, cantante), ¿cuáles son tus
influencias vocales? ¿tus guitarristas favoritos?
-Mis influencias vocales y guitarristas favoritos
son muy escasos. La razón es que originalmente soy baterista. Pero ya que recientemente
tomé la guitarra y empecé a cantar reconozco que Jack White es una fuerte
influencia en ambos aspectos. Nunca he tratado de imitarlo, lo que me parece
muy sano porque tengo mis características propias y únicas como cualquier
músico, pero se nota a leguas que los discos de The White Stripes han sido una
bandera para mi transición musical. Josh Homme es otro artísta que me ha
influenciado fuertemente.

¿cuáles son tus bateristas favoritos?
-Los bateristas que han ayudado a definir mi
estilo personal han sido Ringo Star (The beatles), Greg Drudy (Interpol),
Dave Grohl (Nirvana) y Meg White (The White Stripes)

-Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Colin

¿Cómo y qué los motivó a unirse?
-La música nos llamó de nuevo a la unión. Luego
del regreso de Andrés a Venezuela desde Finlandia, al reencontrarse con Luis
concretaron el proyecto (que se había gestado antes de la partida de Andrés).
Luego al conocernos los tres decidimos ensayar y fue todo tan fluido que no se
pudo evitar el nacimiento del proyecto.

¿Se consideran sexy bastards?
-Nos consideramos lo que somos realmente,
dependiendo de nuestros estados de ánimos cuando nos levantamos y
sentimos lo frío de las baldosas ó una cálida alfombra en nuestros
pies. Lo sexy lo lleva cada persona al sentirse hermoso por dentro y por fuera
cada día. Es una actitud, no una condición. Vivimos para ser sexy.
-A parte de la música, ¿a qué
actividades dedican su tiempo? (Hobbies, estudios, trabajo)
-Itza: Estudio diseño gráfico, trabajo, leo lo más
que puedo y veo documentales sobre historia.
-Luis: Trabajo como diseñador gráfico freelancer y
estudio música.
-Andrés: Estudio música, trabajo freelance en lo
que me permita tener tiempo libre para la educación musical y escucho mucha,
mucha música.
- ¿Qué los llevó a decidir
usar el inglés como su idioma predominante en sus canciones?
-El proyecto fue gestado originalmente para
establecerse en Europa y se compusieron la mayoría de los temas con ese
objetivo. Los temas tenían ya estructura completa y no queríamos perder tiempo
traduciendo lo que tan naturalmente nació en inglés.
-
¿Cuántos temas tendrá su álbum? ¿Cuándo es la fecha de lanzamiento y
el nombre del disco?
-La fecha de Lanzamiento sera el 6 de julio de
2012 en el Teatro Bar (Valencia). Esa noche se venderá una edición
especial del disco que incluirá un estuche de cuero enumerado y alguien del
público se llevará un iPod personalizado por @fuckmycells (Juan Arias)
pre-cargado con la música de la banda. El numero de canciones está aun por
definirse.

¿Tienen
pensado grabar un video?
-Si, muy pronto iniciaremos esa fase del proyecto
de banda.

¿De qué manera
ha influido la escena artística valenciana y venezolana en su música?
-Nos ha influenciado el hecho de que se ha creado
una comunidad de bandas valencianas. Apreciamos la buena música que se
hace en Venezuela admirando las grandes bandas con una buena
trayectoria musical como lo es candy 66, Los mentas, Desorden Público, Los
Amigos invisibles, Zapato 3 entre otras.

¿Qué países les gustaría visitar y darse a conocer como banda?
-Luis: Inglaterra, Francia, España, Chile,
Argentina y muchos otros.
-Itza: Me gustaría visitar Italia que es el país
originario de mi padre y me gustaría darme a conocer por latinoamérica.
-Andrés: Brasil, Argentina, México, Dinamarca e
Inglaterra para comenzar.

Describan de qué trata "Holy Sexy Bastards". ¿Qué quieren
dar a conocer como músicos?
- HSB es música de Ultraviolencia un power-trio de
sonidos garage crudos. Las letras son hipotéticas pero muy reales. Queremos
hacer entender que no se necesita ser un virtuoso para hacer música auténtica y
que sirva como batuta para llevar un mensaje. Nuestro rock es de Garaje y se
mantendrá así siempre como condición única para su existencia.

-1920, 11:34pm. A normal evening at the
corner table in an antique bar in the heart of New York. The Italian-american
mafia gather around with half-light. Then, a stranger in suit, overcoat and
black hat enters and sits on one of the bar red worn out chairs, he asks the
bartender for a double whiskey glass. The atmosphere turns tense, all the
gangsters at the back table stare at the stranger. He drinks a sip of whiskey,
then strongly puts down the glass on the bar. While he stares at the bar, he
thinks for a few seconds, so he gets up, turns around and pulls out from the
overcoat a machinegun shooting the Mob Chief and some others. They respond with
another burst making him to get away. A black car abruptly stops in front of
the bar entry, hearing the tire’s screech against the asphalt. The stranger
gets on the car and the persecution starts on the streets of New York. Between
rapid gunshots that come and go from both sides, the driver of the front car
gets a fatal shot causing an accident and three overturns falling on one side

(guitarrist, vocals), Which are you vocal influeces? And your favorite guitar
players?
- My vocal influences and favorite
guitar players are limited. The reason is that im originally a drummer. But now
that I picked up the guitar and start to sing, I recognize that Jack White is a
strong influence in both ways. I’ve never tried to imitate him, what I think is
healthy because I have my own unique characteristics like every musician has,
but you can easily notice that The White Stripes’s albums have been my “flag”
during my musical transition. Josh Homme is another artista that has strongly
influenced me.

- Music called us to gather again. After
the comeback of Andrés to Venezuela from Finland, he met again with Luis and
set the project (that had being brewing before Andres left). Then, once we meet
each other three, we decided to practice and all flow so great that we could’t
avoid the birth of the project.
- Do you consider yourselves Sexy
Bastards?
- We consider ourselves what we
really are, depending on our mood when we wake up and feel the cold floor tiles
or the warm carpet underneath our feet. Sexyness is what each person has when
feeling beautiful inside and out. It’s an attitude, not a condition. We live to
be sexy.
- Besides music, what do you spend your
time on? (Hobbies, studying, work)
- Itza: I study graphic design, work,
and read as much as I can. I also watch history documentaries.
- Luis: I work freelance as a graphic
designer and study music.
- Andrés: I study music, work freelance
in anything that lets me free time for musical education. I also listen to music,
lots of music.

What brought you
to pick English as your main language in your songs?
- The project was originally intended to
establish in Europe and the majority of songs were composed with that
objective. The tunes had already a complete structure I we didn’t want to lose
time translating what naturedly was born in English.

How many tracks will have your debut album? When
is the release? Whats the name of it?
- The launch will be on july 6th,
2012 in Teatro Bar, Valencia (Night club in Venezuela). That night we will be
selling an special edition of the disk that includes a leather enumerated case
and someone in th audience can win a personalized iPod by @fuckmycells (Juan
Arias) and with the band songs. We are still deciding the number of tracks that
the album is going to include.

Do
you guys are thinking of making a video?
- Yes. Soon we will start that phase of
the band project.

In which way the Venezuelan music scene has
influenced you?
- The fact that a community of bands in
Valencia has been created, has influenced us. We appreciate nice music made in
Venezuela, we admire big bands with a good trajectory like Candy 66, Los
mentas, Desorden Publico, Los Amigos invisibles, Zapato 3 and others.
- Which countries would you like to
visit, and spread the word as HSB?
- Luis: England, France, Spain, Chile,
Argentina and others.
- Itza: I would like to visit Italy
because its my father’s home country and I would like to spread the word in
Latinamerica
- Andrés: Brasil, Argentina, Mexico,
Denmark and England, just to start.
-Describe
what is “Holy Sexy Bastards” about. What do you want to express as musicians?
- HSB is ultra violence-music, a garage
raw sounds power-trio. The lyrics are hypothetical but so real. We want to make
people understand that one doesn’t need to be virtuous to make authentic music
that actually can bring a message. Our rock is Garage and it will maintain this
way always as unique condition for its existence.
